Kamal Gil

Home Manager

Kamal Gil

My background in nursing and hands-on experience managing nursing and dementia care homes have shaped my approach to providing compassionate, person-centred care. I am committed to enhancing the lives of our residents, ensuring they feel valued, safe, and supported in every aspect of their care.

What I love most about my role is the opportunity to make a positive difference every day, working closely with residents, families, and our dedicated team to create a warm and welcoming environment. I believe in fostering a culture of kindness and respect, where every individual’s needs and preferences are at the heart of everything we do.

My door is always open, and I am here to support colleagues across the home, ensuring every resident receives the high-quality care and attention they deserve. I am proud to contribute to the exceptional standards at Southborough Nursing Home.

I'm passionate about providing person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing, while supporting our team to deliver the highest standards of care. I love building meaningful relationships with residents and their families and helping to create a place where everyone feels valued and at home.

Outside work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling and continuing both my personal and professional development.

Lifestyle Lead
I joined Southborough in 2021 and have loved every moment of supporting residents through meaningful activities and experiences.

Creating opportunities for fun, connection and wellbeing is incredibly rewarding, and I believe laughter truly is the best therapy. Being named a finalist in the National Care Awards and receiving a CEO Recognition Award are highlights of my career, but the greatest reward is building genuine friendships with residents.

Outside work, I enjoy cooking, music, dancing and spending time with family both here and in India.

I have worked as a chef for more than 25 years and cooking has always been more than just a profession for me.

I love creating dishes that bring people together and seeing the smiles on the faces of residents, families and colleagues when they enjoy something prepared with care. The creativity of developing menus and leading a passionate kitchen team keeps every day exciting.

Outside of work, I enjoy experimenting with new recipes, exploring local markets and spending time with my family.

Our experienced teams

Every day Care UK colleagues live our values of passionate, caring and teamwork to empower residents to enjoy fulfilling lives.

Carers

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. We work with you to shape the care your loved one receives, the food they’re served, the activities and experiences they want to do – even the ways they prefer to keep in touch with their friends and family.

Nurses

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes.

Infection control

Every colleague receives training in infection prevention and control as part of their induction and updates regularly through online and in-person learning. Our dedicated IPC Champions in each home help embed safe working practices and raise awareness of hygiene standards.
