The Terrace

Welcome to The Terrace

At The Terrace we provide a range of quality care services for older people in beautiful surroundings. Our skilled and experienced team offer permanent and short term (respite) residential and dementia care.

The Terrace is a Victorian building and retains its ornate stonework and high ceilings. Each bedroom is different: some are very spacious, some offer fantastic countryside views while others open onto our gardens and have their own patio area.

There are also different communal spaces where residents can socialise with friends and visitors, take part in activities or spend some quiet time reading and relaxing. We even have a bar and our own hair salon. Our gardens are a big feature of our home, with their lawns, terraces, mature trees and greenhouse. Your loved one is very welcome to get involved in gardening.

Meet the team

Every day our colleagues live our values of passionate, caring and teamwork to empower residents to enjoy fulfilling lives.

Meet the team

The dedicated and experienced team at The Terrace will provide your loved one with care that is completely tailored to their individual needs and wishes.

My approach as a manager is to make sure every resident is cared for in the same way that you’d care for a member of your own family. I spend as much time as I can with residents, chatting with them in the lounges and dining areas. I have a policy that I spend some time every morning saying hello and catching up with everyone before I get stuck into work.

What others have to say

Here are just some of the comments we’ve received from family, friends and residents at The Terrace care home.

The staff do everything possible to help mum and she is at the last stage of dementia so she is not a very easy person to deal with. They do everything to support her.

Mr B P, Relative of resident, November 2019

My mum is really difficult, they keep us fully informed about her care. I feel that they're very supportive of me.

Mrs J L, Relative of resident, November 2019

I feel that they don't just look after my mum as a resident; it’s like she is a member of their family, there are lots of cuddles and interaction with staff and other residents of the dementia unit, the home is like one big family.

Mrs S.T, relative of a resident, July 2019

They have a garden area and a greenhouse and they get mum involved in gardening as well as going on trips. Mum has more freedom now compared to when she was in her own place.

Relative of a resident, July 2019

Every time I go in there is something different. They are not all mush. They get sandwiches sometimes just for a change.

Ms S. G, Relative of a resident, July 2019
