Care UK in Joint Project for New Nursing Home in Richmond

Company news

Care UK, the specialist health and social care provider and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames are working together to provide care services at Whitefarm Lodge. Care UK has rebuilt the home and will provide nursing and care under a PFI agreement with the Borough.

Situated in Whitton, the home has a total of 60 bedrooms on three floors, with 23 nursing and 37 care beds.

Tony Hosking, Managing Director, Residential Care, of Care UK said: "The opening of this care centre marks a step change in the quality of the care environment available to the older people of Richmond and represents the Council's commitment to the provision of high quality services for years to come."

Cabinet Member for Social Services and Housing, Cllr Jean Matthews, said: "We are delighted to announce more improvements in services for older people within the borough. The partnership with Care UK has helped the Council to provide long-term care when it is needed. There has always been a shortage of nursing home care for older people and now Whitefarm Lodge will provide an additional sixty bedrooms."
