Partnership with Islington goes from strength to strength

Company news

Contract negotiations are already under way and are expected to be completed shortly with planning permission received by the end of 2005. Design work for the new centre, which also offers a day centre to be operated by the borough and a specialist falls clinic, is being undertaken by Mackellar Architecture who have worked with Care UK previously in the North East of England.

The new scheme, which will be known as Lennox House, is the third specialist care centre commissioned with Care UK by the borough and is scheduled to open in May 2007. Nursing and residential care will be provided on-site including high dependency dementia and respite care services.

Richard Pearman, Care UK's development director, said "The addition of this new service strengthens our evolving strategic partnership with the borough and makes Care UK the Council's major partner in the provision of specialist care services. We will be providing services at Lennox House until at least 2032 and hope that we can add additional flexible and innovative care services enabling us to meet the changing needs of Islington's population as we go forwards".

The first two partnership projects with the London Borough of Islington are providing high quality services to the people of Islington: Muriel Street Resource Centre opened in 2004; and Highbury New Park opened in July this year.
