Sophie brings Hollywood to Heatherbrook

Company news

Heatherbrook was transported to Hollywood for the evening to celebrate the talents and generosity of young local artist Sophie Snook.

Sophie donated ten large canvasses of Hollywood greats, to transform one of the corridors in our Home into The Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The paintings provide both visual and tactile stimulation for the residents, as each has an addition that is real, such as jewellery or a necktie. This project took six months to complete and Sophie gave her time and effort for free, for which we are very grateful.

Sophie is an incredibly talented young lady and what she has done for the residents of Heatherbrook is really quite extraordinary.

The staff worked very hard to completely transform the home into a glitzy champagne party complete with red carpet, We were honoured to have Deputy Mayor Pam Light perform the opening ceremony and unveil the paintings. The evening was a resounding success, and thoroughly enjoyed by residents, staff and relatives alike.
