Local MP shows local support

Company news

Staff at Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre recently welcomed MP Natascha Engel through its hospital doors.  Natascha, a Labour Party politician who has been an MP for North East Derbyshire since 2005, was welcomed to the Centre and given an insight into the day-to-day workings at the top rated hospital.

During the course of her visit, the mum of three took time to speak to patients on the wards and those who were attending follow-up consultations.

Natascha is local to the Centre, a Chesterfield resident herself she understands how important short waiting times are for people who are in pain and in need of expert advice and treatment.   The Centre prides itself on its short waiting times and its extremely low infection rates, it has never had a case of hospital acquired MRSA or C.difficile.

Graeme Kendall, Manager at Care UK’s Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre said: “Hosting a visit from our MP was a great privilege, but especially more so in Natatascha’s case as she lives locally.  Having a tour and speaking first hand to patients demonstrated how committed my staff are to providing the best care imaginable.  We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Natascha for taking time out of her busy schedule to visit us and our patients.”

Run by an independent company with an impressive track record in patient care and clinical success, on behalf of the NHS for NHS patients only, the Centre provides day care and inpatient orthopaedic surgery for patients from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It prides itself on providing the best patient care at its unique facility in friendly and comfortable surroundings.

The Centre, is situated less than one mile from Junction 30 of the M1 which makes it very accessible and the parking is free.
