Brighton Station Health Centre re-opens after flooding causes a small fire

Company news

The Health Centre had to close yesterday afternoon after a small fire broke out in a service duct.  It is believed that the fire was caused by water getting into electrical cables after the heavy rain caused part of the building to flood.

Patients had to be diverted to other local health services yesterday afternoon and this morning while the building was checked over and some repairs put in place.

Centre Manager Deb Jeavons-Fellows said:  ā€œIā€™d like to thank the team from the fire and rescue service who were quickly on the scene and prevented the fire from spreading.  Since then, my team have worked tirelessly to get everything back to normal and we were delighted to re-open at 1pm today.ā€

The Health Centre provides a GP service and walk-in service for NHS patients on behalf of NHS Brighton and Hove.  Full details of the services offered by the centre are available at  http://www.brightonstationhealthcentre.co.uk/
