Former Owner’s Ashes Scattered at Silversprings

Home news

After a long and inspiring life, Mary Bickers, former owner of Silversprings, passed away in January of this year. On Tuesday 17 August 2010 at 2.30pm, Silversprings Caring Senior Living was honoured to help Mary’s family lay her to rest over the grounds she loved.

The accommodating nature of Silversprings began when Mary and her partner, Bill, purchased it as a small farmstead in 1948 before launching a flourishing business; The Silver Springs Motel.

Mary, who became well-known, respected and valued in Thorrington, sold Silversprings in 1977. With a new lease of life, Silversprings Caring Senior Living will still continue Mary’s kindness and compassion towards life and those around her.

Mary’s ashes were scattered across Silversprings and a Malus Tree, which has been planted in memory of Mary, has now become part of our beautiful gardens.
