75-year-old John Robinson (pictured), from Park Road in Eccleshill, sought advice from his doctor for his trigger finger problem, after numerous steroid injections had failed to ease the condition.
He was referred to Eccleshill Treatment Centre to see an Orthopaedic specialist with a view to surgery. Within four days he had an appointment with consultant Orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Sampathkumar, at the treatment centre. After pre-operative tests to assess John’s suitability for surgery, he was booked in for the procedure.
John said: “I couldn’t believe how fast and efficiently everything had been arranged, the whole experience was quick easy and hassle free, just over five weeks from start to finish.
“From the moment I walked in the service was excellent. Each and every member of staff, from receptionist to surgeon, really made me feel at ease. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was explained to me in detail. The whole place was spotlessly clean and very well organised.
“Upon discharge I was given a 24 hour helpline number and the next day a nurse rang to check everything was ok.
“My wife and I have told all our family and friends about the excellent treatment I received and I would have no hesitation in recommending Eccleshill Treatment Centre to anyone needing day case surgery.
“I could not have had any better service if I had gone to Harley Street.”
John was one of the first surgery patients to be operated on at Eccleshill Treatment Centre following its reopening under new independent healthcare providers, Care UK.
The centre benefits from a close working relationship with the local NHS whose own consultant surgeons from the Bradford Royal Infirmary also work there. Eccleshill provides extra surgical capacity to help the local NHS reduce patient wait times and deliver improved services. The centre has its own X-ray, MRI, ultrasound and CT scanners so the centre can provide direct access diagnostics to GPs and their patients without the need for an additional hospital appointment.
Care UK is the largest independent operator of NHS treatment centres in the UK and the largest independent provider of health care services to the NHS.
