Harry Sotnick House celebrates Royal Wedding

Company news

Residents and staff at Harry Sotnick House nursing home in Portsmouth got into the party spirit when they celebrated the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Home Manager, Gary Briggs said  “The residents have really been looking forward to the event and have been sharing photos and reminiscing about their own weddings. They have also been busy making decorations and hats to wear on the big day.”

“On the day of the wedding we decorated the lounge with bunting, balloons and photos of the royal couple. We organised the chairs to look like pews facing the large flat screen TVs and our residents got dressed up in their best clothes and hats and joined in the service. After the service residents tucked into a special wedding cake made by our chef!”

After the wedding the residents and staff joined the fun and festivities of a local street party in fifth street organised by the local community. The party goers enjoyed a wedding buffet of cucumber sandwiches, tea and scones and were entertained by a local band.
