Whitebourne pulls out all the stops (and the corks) for royal wedding celebrations

Home news

Whitebourne held its own grand wedding reception for the Royal couple including a three course meal a two tier wedding cake and pink bubbly.

Two dining rooms were decorated for the event.  One wall in each dining room was designed with British royal weddings of the past, which included Queen Victoria, the Queen and the Queen mother. Underneath there were photographs of the residents’ weddings and it was lovely to see the residents pick out their own wedding pictures.

Residents selected pictures of the couple to be displayed around the home along with banners, balloons, flowers and special paper weights for the centre pieces.

Many staff turned up in their wedding outfits and hats, one of our senior carers came in her sari wedding dress and our maintenance man Louis (72) came along in his tuxedo.

We designed our own wedding invitation inviting residents and relatives to the wedding reception. After the meal, afternoon celebrations really began when relatives started to come along.   They joined in with their families and listened to our local entertainer Scott  who played and sang. Everyone was up dancing and singing

On the actual day of the royal wedding Whitebourne residents will be attending a street party being held by the local community.
