The Willows celebrated William and Kate’s wedding day by holding a street party with a twist, incorporating a mock marriage ceremony.
Residents and staff made the brides dress, from choosing the fabric, needlework to measuring for fitting, and not forgetting the incorporation of fairy lights. Bridesmaid’s dresses, choir and vicar outfits were also made.
Food was organised by our Head Chef and his staff with residents also helping with food preparation, making sandwiches and icing buns.
The families of some residents agreed to help residents and staff decorate the gardens with flags, bunting and banners.
A wedding present list was included with invitations All items on the list were to benefit residents, such as extra special toiletries and arts and craft materials.
The wedding party consisted of residents, staff and their families playing the parts of bride, groom, vicar, bridesmaids and guests which gave everyone the chance of dressing up in their finery and there was even a choir selected from residents and staff.
