Five star food hygiene award for Whitebourne

Home news

Whitebourne received a prestigious five star ‘Excellent’ certificate from Rushmoor’s Mayor, Councillor Alex Crawford, at a special award ceremony held at the council’s offices.

Ros Stevenson, the home’s manager, and chef Paddy Talbot, went along to collect the certificate.

Ros said: “It is hard work and dedication that provides this level of excellence in food hygiene and that is what our 65 residents expect and deserve.”

All businesses and care homes serving food are thoroughly inspected by the council’s environmental health service as part of their programmed food inspections. These are carried out in accordance with the Food Standards Agency’s National Food Law Code of Practice, which sets out rules for the conduct and frequency of inspections.

Ros said: “Not only is Paddy’s kitchen of the highest standard but so is his food. The residents love it and he spends a lot of time talking to them about what they like and don’t like and he will always cater for individuals’ tastes. The residents particularly enjoy his cheese and wine events!”
