Tree marks 20 years of caring at Pinetum

Home news

The Sheriff of Chester, Hilarie McNae, was joined by staff, residents, relatives and local MPs when she planted a rose bush in our award-winning garden to mark 20 years of care at Pinetum.

Staff were also on hand to talk to visitors about our latest day care service.  Tracy Simpson, our manager  said: “The new service gives those people living in their own home a chance to come in and have a chat with staff and residents, join in activities and have a meal. This helps to keep them active and engaged and staves off loneliness as well as giving their regular carers a break and a chance to catch up with tasks like shopping.

“We also have a pamper package that includes a bath, hair wash and lunch. This is proving very popular, as many older people do not have access to a bath and they enjoy the chance of a nice long soak in a pleasant environment.”

There was another celebration on the day as 15 members of staff received long service medals, including administrator Carys Done who began work on the day Pinetum opened.

Tracy said: “Having such a well-established team means we offer wonderful continuity of care. We all know all the residents’ likes and dislikes and we do all we can to keep up their interests and hobbies and work to ensure they have a fulfilling and happy life.”
