Apples back on the menu for Kathryn after Treatment Centre visit

Company news

Kathryn Woodcock had the unfortunate experience of one of her teeth breaking whilst eating. The dentist that she visited was able to remove half the tooth but referred her to Southampton Treatment Centre to have the other half removed.

Kathryn, an NHS employee who works in Sexual health and Chlamydia screening, said: “I was unable to eat on one side of my mouth and was experiencing much discomfort.  Fortunately, my appointment at the Treatment Centre was within three weeks of my dentist referring me.”

Once Kathryn arrived for her appointment, she recalled: “The consultant and nursing staff actually made my appointment good fun by making me laugh and generally putting me at ease. Everything was explained very well and I always felt understood and cared for.”

Upon seeing the consultant, a decision was made to bring Kathryn back for treatment and she was seen again within four weeks.

“Before I returned for my treatment, I was given an information pack which helped me to understand what was needed and once again, helped to alleviate any fears.  On the day of my treatment, all of the staff were, once again, friendly, caring and professional.  I can now bite into my daily apple again with no problem at all!”
