Afternoon tea raises cash for Dementia UK

Mill Lodge raised £60 money for Dementia UK when we held an afternoon tea event as part of Time for a Cuppa day, on Monday 27th February.

Time for a Cuppa was about bringing people together across the country to hold an event at home, in the workplace or in the community to help raise much-needed funds to support the work of Dementia UK, a charity dedicated to improving life for people with dementia.

Mill Lodge manager Jean Cadman said: “Our kitchen team made cakes to sell on the day which were served with tea or coffee. Our staff also kindly donated food items for a hamper which was raffled to raise money for the charity too.

 Some of our residents live with dementia so this is a cause close to our hearts.   More and more people are suffering from this now but there is a lot that can be done and the money helps to provide everything from advice through to special equipment.”
