Jubilee fun at Meadow Court

Company news

Celebrations began during the week leading up to the Jubilee weekend with afternoon tea of clotted cream and jam for every cluster. The tables were decorated with red, white and blue tablecloths, plates and cups.

Resident’s families joined the celebrations which included a sing along of the old time favourites.

We also made a flag out of tiny pieces of coloured tissue paper and used pictures of the Queen and the Royal Family to decorate the reception area along with bunting and flags.

There was also a display of flowers made with red, white and blue tissue paper and colourful
red, white and blue table decoration was made with the assistance of residents with flags and pictures of the Queen.

Each cluster enjoyed its own activities:

Stone Cluster - one of our residents who will be 90 years old in August, dressed as
the Queen.

Green Cluster - they decorated the lounge and had a tea party also with a resident dressed up as Queen.

Terracotta Cluster - there was a party and a craft session

Blue Cluster - there was a party and a resident sang and played his accordion.

Yellow Cluster - residents played music, and enjoyed a cake.

Heather Cluster - residents made hats and a member of staff was Queen for the day.

We collected Jubilee cuttings from newspapers and magazines over the weeks and put
together a scrapbook with the help of some residents.
