A Cambridge care home team is celebrating after being named as finalists in a prestigious awards pro

Company news

The team at Care UK’s Hinton Grange home have been selected as finalists in an awards programme run by Great British Care Awards.

Workers at the home, on Bullen Road, Cambridge, have been named as finalists in The Care Team Award category and will be going up against a number of other homes from the region to see if they are crowned winners.

Hinton Grange provides specialist residential, nursing and respite care for older people, including those with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.

The home, managed by Sam Lambourne, makes great efforts to ensure residents are able to enjoy fulfilling experiences every day and keep up their hobbies, whether that is painting or baking indoors or working in the garden and helping care for the home’s resident rabbit, Biscuit.

Violet Kotu, Care UK’s Regional Director said: “Sam and all the team at Hinton Grange work so hard to ensure the home is a happy and active place, and I am so pleased to see their efforts are being recognised in this way.

“To be named as finalists in such a competitive category is a real achievement and whether they win the final award or not, they are already demonstrating the passion and commitment it takes to offer excellent care.”

As finalists in the Great East of England Care Awards, the Hinton Grange team will now face a gruelling interview with a panel of judges before finding out if they are winners at a ceremony at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford in November.
