Altrincham radiographer is runner-up in national healthcare awards

Company news

Janet Ritchie from Altrincham, a key player in the team providing more than 75,000 community-based scans on behalf of 18 primary care trusts, has been named as runner-up in a prestigious award competition.

Janet, who is the National Clinical Lead in the service, was among those recognised as an unsung hero at the national Health Care Awards for providing excellent service, often out of the limelight, to improve services and standards for Care UK patients.

The competition, which judges say was the toughest they had seen, was open to Care UK’s 2,900 team members who provide expert care and services to patients at GP practices, diagnostics services, special treatment centres, out-of-hours services and prisons across the country.

Janet works with Care UK’s Specialist Medical Imaging team. She helps to deliver a range of high quality Ultrasound, DEXA and X-ray services on behalf of the NHS in health clinics and hospitals in local community settings.

Judges heard that she provides leadership and support for all of those who work with her, always going above and beyond what her job requires for the patients in her care and the colleagues she supports on a daily basis.

Janet said: “It is lovely to think that someone thinks so highly of your work and the little things you do are actually noticed.”
