Patients invited to vote on GP surgery opening hours

Two Newcastle NHS GP surgeries are inviting people to an open day on Monday 19^th November to vote on what hours they would like them to open.

Care UK, which runs the practices on behalf of the local NHS,  is inviting current patients of the Grainger Medical Group and local residents to visit the Adelaide Medical Centre in Benwell between 9am and 2pm to discuss what opening hours fit in best with their busy lifestyles. Practice managers will also be available to answer questions about the centre and to register new patients.

The Grainger Medical Group, which is currently open Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 6pm, offers a range of health services to the communities of Benwell and Elswick. Its team is committed to delivering a professional, friendly and responsive local health service that meets the demands of the people it serves.

Mike Frayne, who has overall responsibility for the Grainger Medical Group, said: “Care UK took over the running of this service in September and by tailoring it to the needs of the local community we can ensure people have access to high quality healthcare at a time that’s more convenient to them.”

Care UK already has a successful track record of delivering healthcare services in Newcastle. It set up and ran the Newcastle walk-in centre, which provided high quality services to people across the city for several years.
