Tiger feet help us raise money for Children in Need

Home news

Residents of Eastcote and Ruislip had a surprise recently when they saw a tiger and Charlie Chaplin walking around the borough, raising money for Children in Need, but they were in fact Whitby Dene’s own activity team Mark and Sarah!

The intrepid pair spent eight hours completing a sponsored walk as well as collecting money from passers-by and shopkeepers they met along the way. They raised an incredible £460 for the charity that supports children at home and abroad and made some new friends along the way.

Mark, the tiger in the team, said: “It was a wonderful and uplifting day. Some of our residents joined us for the first leg of the trip into Eastcote and they cheered us on our way as we continued on.

“Everyone at the home and on the route were very generous and it made spending a very cold day in a thin tiger’s suit worthwhile.”
