Festive fun takes centre stage at Kingsfield

Company news

The home, in Jubilee Way, Faversham, will be visited by members of the Arden Theatre group, who will be performing a selection of Christmas themed sketches and songs on December 23.

Activities co-ordintor Laura Corbett said: “The residents are really looking forward to the visit. The actors will be in costume while they read poetry and perform popular Christmas readings. It will make a perfect start to our Christmas celebrations.”

Joining the theatre group in the spotlight will be one of the home’s own team, Hannah Mackenzie, who is a regular performer with them.

Hannah, who will be presenting a recital of Clement Clarke Moore’s festive classic The Night Before Christmas, said: “I’ve been a member of the local theatre group for about a year and have a done a couple of shows with them. There is going to be music, readings and songs, it’s going to be a bonanza afternoon of entertainment!

“I’m looking forward to it, but I’m also a bit nervous about the reading. I started learning it and it’s a bit longer than I realised but I think it will be fine, I hope it will make everyone laugh.”

The visit is the latest in a run of festive activities at the home, which have included a Christmas fete complete with visit from Father Christmas for residents’ younger relatives.
