Last minute shopping, great food and a chance to see Santa

Company news

Faversham residents will have a chance to pick up some last minute Christmas gifts and meet Father Christmas, as Care UK’s Kingsfield residential care home opens its doors to the public on Friday 14th December between 2pm-4pm.

As well as stalls, including a craft stall filled and run by the residents, there will be a chance to guess the number of sweets in the jar, enjoy goodies from the cake stall and enjoy some Christmas refreshments with a twist.

Activities Coordinator Laura Corbett said: “A member of our kitchen team makes excellent noodles and spring rolls and she will be cooking them on the day and we will also have a traditional mulled wine and mince pie stall.”

Children will also have an opportunity to tell Father Christmas what they want for Christmas as well as some live Christmas-themed entertainment.

Laura said: “The residents have been working hard making beautiful decorations to give the home a Christmas feel and they have created a beautiful ‘12 Days of Christmas’ display by collecting, amongst other things, twigs and leaves to create the pear tree for the partridge.”

On Sunday 23rd December, it will be the residents’ turn to be entertained when they are visited by an amateur dramatic group from the Arden Theatre.

Laura said: “The residents are really looking forward to the visit. The actors will be in costume while they read poetry and perform popular Christmas readings. It will make a perfect start to our Christmas celebrations.”
