International cuisine is back on the menu at Chalfont Court

Last time it was Hungary, Thailand, Mexico and Greece, but who knows what journeys the residents of Chalfont Court will go on with their exotic cultural cuisine days in 2013?

One of most popular activities in the past has been the international days, created by Activities Coordinator Emily Simpson. Emily loved organising the days but, as she also created the food for the occasions, it became a lot of additional work and she decided to take a bit of a break from her globe-trotting entertaining.

And for this year, the globe-trotting entertaining is set to start again thanks to Emily and the kitchen team, and the internationally inspired dining will start off with Italy. Emily said: “I used to research the countries and their recipes on the internet and then cook them all from scratch. This time, I have the help of the kitchen team and our Chef has promised to make us spaghetti bolognaise and delicious homemade pizzas, while I’ll help out with a tricolore salad and dessert.

“We will also make flags and have balloons in the colours of the nations’ flags and there will be quizzes and events to help us celebrate the countries we chose and their cultures.”
