We grow our own dignity tree

Home news

To celebrate national Dignity Action Day, on Friday 1st February Hollins Park will be making a special dignity tree to capture ideas on dignity.

Activity Coordinators and residents are currently making and painting leaves and at an event on the big day everyone will write what dignity means to them on a leaf.

Our Manager, Tammy Simmons, said: “Providing dignity in care is of paramount importance to everyone who works at Hollins Park. However, everyone’s ideas of what dignity is different and it important for us to understand what dignity means to our residents and their relatives.

“Everyone who has written on a leaf will then put their leaf on one of the branches and create a living tree of dignity.”

The commitment to dignity is on-going and in the year ahead the team will be taking on additional training and surveys to ensure the home is setting the highest standards of dignity in care.
