We climb Snowdon to celebrate St David’s Day

Home news

On Friday 1st March a team from Tall Trees will be setting off to conquer Mount Snowdon as part of the homes’ St David’s Day celebrations.

However, they will not be leaving the comfort of Essex or, indeed, Tall Trees, as they plan to tackle Britain’s second highest mountain on a treadmill.

Manager Katherine Foley said: “As a fun and fundraising exercise, the team, along with some of the residents’ relatives will be taking on the home’s treadmill to climb the nine miles there and back.

“The ascent is 3,199ft so we will have the treadmill set on ‘hard mountain walk’ mode and we estimate that it will take us about six hours to complete. Hopefully, there will be lots of volunteers so we can keep a fresh pair of legs on the treadmill.”

So happy ‘Dydd Gŵyl Dewi’ everyone and look out for the photos on the site
