Lunch for the Friends of Mill View

Home news

The team at Mill View greatly admire those people who are caring for a loved one with dementia and are always pleased to be able to share our knowledge with them as well as giving them a well-earned break.

We run the Friends of Mill View lunch to support residents’ families at the home as well as local families who are caring for a loved one at home.

Held once a month in the home’s Doyle’s coffee shop area the lunches are proving increasing popular and at the May meeting, around 25 visitors joined Mill View’s Mark Bennett for the afternoon.

Mark said: “We were delighted that more families were able to meet and support other people going through similar experiences with loved ones.

“There is clearly a need for a group in this area to give support to local families and fortunately we have the expertise and the facilities to do that. The lunches will continue to be held each month and new visitors are always welcome to join us.”
