Fifties fun at Crabbe Street wellbeing centre in Ipswich

Company news

Crabbe Street wellbeing centre in Ipswich enjoyed stepping back to the 1950s with a week-long programme of fifties-themed activities.

The 50s theme began on 29th July with an open event for wellbeing centre customers’ family and friends. The purpose of the open event was to showcase the wellbeing centre’s fun and lively atmosphere whilst raising awareness of the examples of activity-based, personalised daytime care that Crabbe Street wellbeing centre offers for older people who have Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.

The centre was decorated with 50s memorabilia and Care UK colleagues wore fancy dress for the occasion. Rock and roll music and traditional tea and cakes were among the activities and were thoroughly enjoyed by all. There were also teatime brainteasers and customers shared their favourite 50s baking recipes.

Crabbe Street wellbeing centre manager, Yvonne Kane, said: “The wellbeing centre has been full of laughter, memories from the era and music this week. Everyone has had a wonderful time celebrating the 50s and it has been great to showcase how the centre can benefit older people who are suffering from dementia and living independently in the local community”.

Crabbe Street wellbeing centre is at 57, Crabbe Street, Ipswich IP4 5HS. For more information about Crabbe Street or the other day clubs and services available in Suffolk, call: 0333 321 8355 or visit www.careuk.com/suffolk
