We put on the kettle and put our best foot forward for tea dance fun

Home news

Our 1950s tea dance held on Tuesday involved all of our residents’ favourite things – music, dancing, tea and cake! The event was held in our lovely garden room and was a tremendous success!

Care UK’s preferred supplier PG Tips kindly provided us with a selection of six different flavoured teas and a CD of 1950s music.

As part of the event we set 3 challenges for residents and their relatives starting with a tea tasting competition where participants had to identify the different types of flavoured teas. This was followed by cake tasting – our most popular challenge! Finally, we ran a tea time teaser quiz with the winner bagging a toiletries gift set.

Florence Clarke our Manager said: “Tea dances are always popular with our relatives and their visitors. All our residents and relatives joined in – dancing or singing along to the 1950s music and it brought back many happy memories.”
