Many of you will already have met Maureen McClean, our new Clinical Lead, who will be in charge of monitoring and maintaining our high standards of clinical welfare and governance.
Maureen is a Registered General Nurse (RGN) and she also has many years of residential care experience, both as a care home deputy manager and manager.
She said: “I love the Willows and I am greatly looking forward to developing our new 20-bed general nursing floor. Very few nursing homes offer respite care, but I am delighted to say that we will be able to offer this most valuable of services to people in our local community.”
Maureen has lived and worked in the area all her life. She said: “I love working in our community and I think people in residential care enjoy being able to talk to people about local life, history and things they have in common.
“I enjoyed being a care home manager but I have to say I am really enjoying being hands on as well as helping our manager Ruth develop the clinical governance aspects of our work.
Ruth Catton said: “I am delighted to have Maureen working with us at the Willows. Her years of experience will be a great help to me and the team and it will ensure all our residents receive the very highest standards of nursing care.”
