Generations come together at Bowes House party

Home news

Four generations of one family came together at Bowes House at the weekend.

Mary Laxton was delighted to see her mother, a resident at Bowes House, daughter and grandchildren all in one place enjoying a barbecue and entertainment.

They were just one of the families taking advantage of the social occasion to meet up and home manager Alison Barnes said it was a real pleasure to see young and old equally happy at the event.

She added that the party was organised for the whole community. Neighbours were welcomed along with friends and family of residents and team members.

“It is important to us to bring people together like this. We have a beautiful building with areas especially designed for socialising, both indoors and out, and we are making the most of them. The weather was perfect for a barbecue and people moved comfortably between our sunny courtyard, bar, lounge and garden.”

There was music for the occasion and entertainment was provided by Fred Delius and his acrobatic Labrador Henry who demonstrated “mind-reading” techniques with timely licks on his master’s face.

A raffle raised funds for the East Sussex Association for the Blind and Partially Sighted People which is based in Hailsham.
