Open day to showcase refocused mental health service

Company news

An established nursing and residential mental health service in Blakelaw, Newcastle-upon-Tyne is set to show off what it has to offer after a major refurbishment project. Cragston Court will be holding an open day next Thursday, 26th September, for the general public and healthcare commissioners alike, ready for new referrals.

Cragston Court is an established nursing and residential service run by Care UK for adults with severe and enduring mental illness. In recent years the service had been focusing mainly on providing great residential care, but has now adopted a greater focus on individual recovery journeys.  .

So, in July Care UK, hired experienced interim manager, Linsay Brett to help spearhead a range of changes, which included an update to the Cragston Court systems plus a major refurbishment project.

Earlier this month our new manager, Carol Holland, took over as unit manager and will now take on the responsibility of focusing the newly refurbished unit on recovery and innovation. She says, “All of the team here at Cragston Court have been working extremely hard to refocus the service and its culture. They’re dedicated to doing their very best for service users, and I’ve been extremely impressed by the positive changes they’ve already made.”

As well as leading the team, Carol will be playing an active part in working with commissioners to gain referrals to the refreshed service from across the North East and Northumberland.

To find out more about the open day, or the services available at Cragston Court, please contact Carol Holland on 0191 286 4443 or carol.holland@careuk.com
