Free health event in Liskeard to help people stay fit and well

Company news

Local people are invited to a free health event at Stuart House in Liskeard town centre on Thursday 10th October between 10am – 4pm.

Health professionals will be on hand at the falls prevention day, organised by Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre, to offer advice on how to stay steady on your feet, both at home and outdoors. A nurse from the Care UK-run treatment centre will offer general health advice and blood pressure checks, and people will also be able to chat with an optician about how vision problems can affect balance and co-ordination.

In addition, a representative from Healthwatch will offer advice on where to access health services, a local walking group will share the benefits of keeping active and instructors from local tai chi and other fitness classes will discuss the positive effects each one has on muscle strength, flexibility and balance.

Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre is located in Plymouth and offers joint replacement, orthopaedic procedures, physiotherapy and x-ray, ultrasound and MRI scans. For more information call 01752 506 070 or visit peninsulatreatmentcentre.nhs.uk
