Best foot forward for Susan after visit for toe surgery

Company news

Susan Prowse has experienced a few hospitals in the past but her visit to Care UK’s Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre bettered anything she had experienced previously.

54-year-old Susan, from Bridgwater, developed a painful problem with both her feet, involving her toes curling in on themselves. For the best part of two years she put up with the problem; but it reached a point where an operation was recommended.

She said: “It was suggested I go to Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre which I was pleased about as I had heard good things about it from friends. I have to say that from the moment I stepped foot into the centre, I was impressed.

“The team couldn’t do enough for me and made me feel very comfortable. I had quite a laugh with a couple of them. I was in there for about four hours and came home afterwards but, to be honest, I could quite happily have stayed the night.

“They told me it would probably be a little painful for the first week and that I would have to return to have the pins removed which I am due to do so in a couple of weeks. My feet feel so much better now, though. The whole experience was excellent and the centre certainly exceeded my expectations.”
