On Thursday 31st October we celebrated Halloween in style, by hosting our very own Halloween themed afternoon. This was a fun filled event which saw residents, relatives and staff and all join in and take part. Staff dressed up in Halloween costumes and decorated the home with a whole host of props, giving a spooky feel to the home.
Residents were also keen to take part in the activities and took part by wearing their very own witch’s hats. Some of the residents also decided to carve their own pumpkins, which the staff assisted them with.
In the afternoon we all enjoyed some entertainment, with a local entertainer coming into the home and singing to the residents. Whilst the singer serenaded the residents, they also enjoyed a variety of treats, including Halloween themed cakes and gooey sweets which everyone got stuck into.
Activity Manger, James Ashington, reflected on the event and said:
“What a lovely afternoon packed full of activities, it was nice to see all the staff dress up and come together. The highlight was seeing the residents sing along to some old songs, taking them back to their youth”
