The Willows care home donates £100 prize to local charity

Home news

We were recently awarded a £100 prize for taking part in the Care UK ‘Over to You! Survey’, a survey which gains a true insight into the opinions of Care UK employees. The team at The Willows decided to donate our £100 prize to Teeside Hospice, as we felt this was such a worthwhile cause.

Teeside Hospice is part funded by the NHS, but still need to raise £4,600 every day of the year to operate. The majority of their work focuses upon pain and symptom control.

Ruth Catton said:

“Teesside Hospice is such a worthwhile cause. They give us regular help and support and we have formed a close partnership with them. They are always at the end of the phone if we need any advice or assistance on medication. ”

The £100 donation was delivered to the Teeside Hospice by a community care cancer specialist nurse, on behalf of The Willows care home. After the donation was made, Teeside Hospice called The Willows to show their gratitude, saying it was greatly appreciated.
