Hawthorn Drive celebrate Christmas in style

The staff and residents of Hawthorn Drive care home celebrated Christmas in style throughout December, taking part in a variety of activities. One activity included Care UK’s Great Christmas Cake Off competition. The Christmas competition, which stretched across all Care UK homes and day centres, asked homes to bake and decorate a cake, getting residents and the local community involved. Although Hawthorn Drive did not win, they were worthy runners up in this competitive competition. Their cake was very unique; with the residents and staff baking and decorating three dimensional snowmen.

Hawthorn Drive also hosted their very own Christmas party on the afternoon of the 17th December. Residents and relatives wore Christmas hats, whilst staff dressed up in festive outfits. An entertainer was on hand to serenade everyone with a selection of Christmas songs and get everyone in the festive spirit. The kitchen provided a buffet which included sandwiches, canopies, cakes and a selection of drinks, with beer and sherry available for those who fancied a tipple.

Lisa Sheppard, Deputy Manager said:

“A wonderful time was had by all at our Christmas party. A lot of relatives turned up to join their loved ones to make this such a splendid day”.
