Visitors enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the day including live music, raffles and watched films at Perry Manor’s very own cinema. The home’s team were also joined by Mayor Cllr Alan Amos who cut the ribbon at the state-of-the-art home and representatives from the Alzheimers Society, who hosted Dementia Friends Seminars throughout the day.
Mike Dearn, Home Manager at Perry Manor, said: “Everyone at Perry Manor thoroughly enjoyed the official launch event and it was a great opportunity to welcome members of the community into the home – including the pupils from Perry Wood primary school who assisted Mayor Cllr Alan Amos in cutting the ribbon.
“We took the opportunity to celebrate this very important milestone for Perry Manor in style; and we are now looking forward to continuing to make our new residents feel at home, and to build on what has been a fantastic start for the care home.”
The £6.5 million home is now officially open to the community following the arrival of the first residents in June, who have since settled into their new home.
Perry Manor is a state-of-the-art care home designed to deliver the very best standards of care, and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. The home offers a range of services including residential care, specialist dementia care and respite care.
