All in a day’s work for Huma and Sally

Company news

Over the last few months operations manager Huma Stone and GP liaison Sally Featherstone have worked tirelessly to promote the benefits of North East London NHS Treatment Centre to the local community.

“It’s really important to get out and about to promote the treatment centre to the wider community,” says Huma.  “The communities are diverse and we wanted to reach as many people as possible.

Sally and Huma’s promotional journey has included a trip to Asda, an Eid celebration party and a local community festival.

“The manager at Asda in Barking was great,” says Sally. “He allowed us to talk to shoppers at the main entrance and we distributed information leaflets. We raised awareness about North East London NHS Treatment Centre and received many positive responses. It was a long day but well worth it.”

“In July we went along to the Goodmayes Festival, which is attended by schools, charities and local churches,” says Huma. It was a lovely sunny day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We spoke to people from a variety of backgrounds and they were very interested to hear about the treatment centre.”

In August Sally and Huma were asked along to the Awaaz group’s Eid celebration party by Mrs Bushra Tahir. The group was created to empower and improve the health of women from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities.

“Bushra is a great ambassador for the treatment centre,” says Sally. She had a cataract procedure there and happily shared her positive experiences with the group. We had a great time talking to the ladies and we hope that if they need elective surgery in the future they will choose to come to us. ”
