Poole care home encourages people to plan for the future

Home news

Care UK, one of the UK’s leading independent sector providers of health and social care services, is inviting people in Poole to find out more about planning care for the future on Monday 15 September at a free event being held at The Potteries care home on 187 York Road.

From 11am to 12.30pm, the team at The Potteries is joining forces with Andrew Page, chartered financial planner at Ashcourt Rowan, and Anthony Weber, Wills and Probate Solicitor at Coles Miller Solicitors. Andrew will be sharing his knowledge and providing expert advice on funding long-term care, while Anthony will also be on hand to provide guidance on legal matters such as powers of attorney.

Home manager Leanne Rickard explained why she is opening the doors to The Potteries for the planning care for the future event. “We often find that people rush into a decision when it comes to care, as they wait until there is a crisis to start making plans. By hosting a free information session, we can open up direct access to trusted professionals who can clearly explain the options when it comes to funding care and we can also support the people of Poole who are thinking about plans for the future right now.

“After the seminar, there will be a question and answer session and visitors will be able to ask questions relevant to their personal circumstances. We hope local people will take the opportunity to join us for what promises to be a very useful and insightful event for the community.”

Those who attend the advanced care planning event at The Potteries will also be able to pick up a copy of Care UK’s recently published ‘Listen, talk, connect’ – a free guide which helps friends and relatives to overcome the challenges they may face in having conversations and general interaction with people living with dementia.

Situated on York Road in Broadstone, The Potteries is one of Care UK’s newest homes. It provides a range of services from respite, nursing and residential care to specialist care for those living with dementia.
