On Wednesday 25th February from 11am-12:30pm the team at the home will be joined by Julie Kirton and Jackie Threshie from the falls prevention service at Worcestershire Health & Care NHS Trust. Julie and Jackie will be discussing tactics for preventing falls among older people as well as providing guidance on how to create safer environments. After the event, they will be on hand to answer any questions and there will also be an opportunity for members of the public to meet the carers at Brook Court.
Linda Clements, home manager at Brook Court, said: “We seek to provide in-depth advice to people in the local community on topics relating to our work. Falls prevention is very important to the team here, as well as residents and family members, as accidental falls can occasionally lead to further health issues. It is imperative we create a safe environment for residents and ensure the correct safety procedures are in place to prevent these accidents. By hosting a free information session we can open up direct access to trusted professionals who can provide expert advice and give people a chance to find out more about care services in the area.”
Situated on Oldnall Road, Brook Court provides full time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short term respite care. The state-of-the-art home has been designed to deliver the very best standards of care and to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives.
