Free event helps people in Stansted plan future care for loved ones

Home news

People in Stansted are invited to find out more about funding long-term care for their loved ones on Tuesday 12 May when the team at Care UK’s Mountfitchet House care home hosts a free event.

From 2pm to 3.30pm, financial planner, Daniel Kern from Ashcourt Rowan, will share his knowledge and provide practical guidance on the options available to those who may be funding care in the future – whether caring for a loved one in their own home or looking at care homes.

Daniel will also be joined by Sheelagh Foort from local solicitors, Foort Taylors. Sheelagh will be on hand to answer any questions on wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA).

Home manager, Allison Squires, said. “We often find that people find it difficult to make decisions about the care of a loved one, particularly if there is lack of support and advice available.

“By hosting an advice-led event here at Mountfitchet House, we can open up direct access to trusted professionals who can clearly explain the options when it comes to funding care while also demystifying legalities surrounding wills and LPAs.  We are looking forward to welcoming the people of Stansted and to lending our support to those who are thinking about making plans for the future care for their loved ones right now.

“After the event, visitors can take the opportunity to meet the team here and to a look around Mountfitchet House.  Places are limited so I would urge those interested to register their attendance by emailing Care UK’s customer relations manager Sharon Butler at sharon.butler@careuk.com.”
