Francis Court enjoys a right Royal celebration

Home news

Relatives, residents and the care team at Francis Court care home in Copthorne have been celebrating Her Majesty the Queen becoming the longest reigning British monarch.

At 5.30pm on 9 September, the Queen had reigned for 23, 226 days, surpassing the reign of her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria. Guests got together at Francis Court on 12 September to celebrate the occasion with a performance from baritone, Franz Hepburn. The home’s catering team served up food and drink fit for a queen, including wine, cake, canapés and cucumber sandwiches.

A daughter of one of the residents at Francis Court said, "I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon’s event, as did my mother. It’s lovely to see such well thought out activities being held, particularly at the weekend, when I’m able to attend".

Maxine Tyson, the home’s activities co-ordinator said, "I love organising events for the home and it’s made even more special when I have such positive feedback from residents and their relatives. It was wonderful to have a day to really celebrate with everyone”.
