A BIRMINGHAM health centre is urging people to put their sexual health at the top of the agenda next week, which is national Sexual Health Week (September 14-20).
Dr Marjorie Gillespie is Primary Care Medical Director at Care UK, which runs The Hill General Practice and Urgent Care Centre in Stratford Road, Sparkhill on behalf of the local NHS. She said sexual health is a very important issue and reminded people the centre offers contraceptive advice including emergency contraception as well as chlamydia screening.
“STIs (sexually transmitted illnesses) can be very nasty and, as always, prevention is better than cure. Members of our nursing team can offer advice on contraception, carry out cervical screening and, where necessary, signpost people to other sexual health services locally,” said Dr Gillespie.
The Hill General Practice and Urgent Care Centre is open 8am-8pm, 365 days a year for walk-in patients. These extended hours have also made it a very popular choice with patients who have chosen it as their registered GP surgery. Further information about registering as a patient with The Hill General Practice and Urgent Care Centre can be obtained on 01212 221 953.
We are happy to arrange interviews with a range of experts, commentary on industry issues and site visits for filming, photography or sound recording. Please get in touch with your requirements and we will do our best to arrange a suitable response.
