The community are encouraged to pop in between 10am and 3pm on either day, take a look at the new facilities and meet the Care UK team. The home officially opened its doors to residents on the 18th January.
Glastonbury Court, which has been undergoing a complete redevelopment since September 2014, has 80 ensuite bedrooms and facilities such as a hair salon, coffee shop and cinema. The home is the second new Care UK development for Bury St Edmunds, following Davers Court which opened in August 2014. Glastonbury Court is the tenth and final care home to open in Care UK’s £60 million county-wide investment project, in partnership with Suffolk County Council.
Jennie Rodger was appointed home manager at Glastonbury Court in November 2015 and has spent the past few months recruiting and training her team ahead of the opening.
Jennie said: “It’s an exciting time for Care UK as we’re reaching the end of our three-year development project, and an exciting time for Bury St Edmunds as we open our second new home for the town. We look forward to welcoming members of the local community to pop in and take a look around the new home on 29th and 30th January. My team and I will be on-hand to give you a tour and answer any questions, and our chef will be preparing some excellent refreshments.”
The completion of Care UK’s Suffolk development project will be celebrated with a special opening event for Glastonbury Court, to be held in spring 2016.
