Free advice for healthy eating in older age at Bury St Edmunds care home

Home news

Older people and family carers in Bury St Edmunds are invited to learn more about healthy eating in older age at a free advice event, to be held at Davers Court care home.

The free event will be held on Wednesday 16th March, 2.30pm-4.30pm, and will include practical nutrition advice and guidance from Care UK’s roving chef for Suffolk, Andrew Mussett. The Eating as we age event will include tips on healthy eating and hydration for the over 60s as well as advice on supporting special dietary needs. There will also be opportunities to sample dishes prepared by the Davers Court care home chef, take a tour of the care home and meet the friendly Care UK team.

Wendy Harvey, home manager at Davers Court, said: “As people get older it becomes increasingly important to eat well and keep hydrated. This can be challenging when you or your loved one is less mobile around the kitchen or has a diminishing appetite and interest in food.

“For anyone looking for free professional advice on nutrition and hydration in older age, we encourage you to come along on the 16th March and meet our expert chef Andrew Mussett and the Davers Court team. We look forward to welcoming you.”
