Winchcombe Place care home celebrate launch of nursing suite

The Care UK team at Winchcombe Place care home on Maple Crescent in Newbury is inviting local people to join in its celebrations for the official opening of a new suite at the home, which will help meet demand for high quality residential nursing care.

Members of the public are invited to drop-in to the care home on Thursday 14th April from 2.30pm to 5pm to take a first look at the new nursing suite.  The open day also coincides with Winchcombe Place’s second birthday, so there will be entertainment, refreshments and plenty of birthday cake.  

Stephanie Jones, home manager at Winchcombe Place, said: “It is a very exciting time for Winchcombe Place.  We have built a warm, welcoming community here, and we are thrilled to be able to announce the expansion of our existing services as we also celebrate two successful years.

“We are very proud of the new nursing suite.  It is the first of two individual suites on a dedicated nursing floor which will eventually provide round-the-clock support for up to 20 residents.  This latest addition to Winchcombe Place means we can now provide even greater continuity of care for existing residents whose needs may change over time.  

“We cannot wait to welcome residents to the new suite and we are all looking forward to inviting local people to join us as we commemorate its opening.”

The new nursing suite at Winchcombe Place is headed up by Roseanne Ince.  A Registered General Nurse, Roseanne is a highly experienced professional who has worked in the nursing and care industry for over 20 years. In her role as lead nurse, Roseanne from Barbados oversees all aspects of clinical care at Winchcombe Place, including the recruitment, training and management of a first class team of nursing staff.

Roseanne said: “Winchcombe Place has a fantastic reputation in the local community, even though it has only been open for two years.  It is a privilege to be able to play a part in building on this, and to be in a position to ensure all residents at Winchcombe Place receive the very best standards of personalised care.

“It is important to me that the nursing team at Winchcombe Place is not just knowledgeable and experienced, but is also caring and compassionate.  By taking the time to get to know residents and their families, we will be able ensure the care provided has a positive impact on their lives.”

Winchcombe Place is a state-of-the-art care home which provides full-time residential and nursing care, and specialist dementia care. Designed to enable its residents to live enjoyable and fulfilling lives, the care home has its very own cinema, hairdressing salon and coffee shop; and there is plenty of space both indoors and out for relaxation and recreation.
