Bury St Edmunds day care centre invites older community to join them for lunch

Home news

Older people in Bury St Edmunds are invited for lunch at Care UK’s Glastonbury Club, adjacent to the new Glastonbury Court care home.

The Club will be serving a three-course meal for older people living in the local community, every Thursday from 12 noon to 2pm.

Heidi Hale, day club manager at the Glastonbury Club, said: “The lunch club is a great opportunity for older people to pop in, enjoy a fresh home-cooked meal and make new friends as well as enjoy our new facilities here at the Glastonbury Club.

“For family carers, the lunch club can provide a much-needed break. Our experienced team can care for a range of needs, including for those who are living with dementia. We hope the lunch club will be a great benefit for the local community and we look forward to welcoming many new faces.”

The Glastonbury Club, which provides flexible day care and activities for older people living locally, is offering the three-course lunch for £10 per person. Bookings must be made by 12 noon the day before and visitors are welcome to come along as little or as often as they like. After lunch, there will be time to join in activities such as gardening, quizzes and arts and crafts.
