From 10am until 4pm, the team at Jubilee House will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To get everyone in the party spirit there will also be live entertainment from 11am, along with a cake sale and fun tombola. From 2.30pm, visitors are invited to join residents at Jubilee House for a ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’, complete with a selection of tempting homemade cakes.
Totka Zhelyazkova, home manager at Jubilee House, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a welcoming and friendly care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Jubilee House has to offer.
“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Godalming to be a part of it.”
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Jubilee House will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age. The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age. The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
