A care home where colleagues ‘go the extra mile’
Our CQC report highlights how we go out of our way ‘to ensure that people and relatives are comforted and looked after in a kind and compassionate manner, and treated with dignity and respect’.
It also says ‘staff go the extra mile to find out what people have done in the past, and look at ways to accommodate activities that are important to people’. The ‘service has a strong person-centred culture and is exceptional at helping people to live their lives to the full’.
The ultimate in tailored care
Our first priority is always our residents’ safety. Our dedicated, highly trained team works hard to maximise the safety of residents while keeping life as normal and fulfilling as possible.
When your loved one moves into our care home in Godalming, we find out all we can about their experiences, interests, likes and dislikes. Everything we learn goes into a life story book, which helps us to plan activities and entertainment that they’ll love. We also produce detailed care plans that include everything from your loved one’s preferred routines to their medication, dietary needs, sleep patterns and mobility.
Jubilee House residents are fully involved in decisions around their care and how they would like to spend their day. They decide everything, including the time they want to get up, what they want to wear and eat, and the activities they’d like to do. A relative, quoted in our CQC report, says: "Here it's about the resident. The staff ethos is 'you work in their home'- not the other way around."
Residents and relatives are part of our home family
All Jubilee House residents are living with dementia and they may have other complex needs. We understand that this can take its toll on relatives, and we’re passionate about taking care of loved ones as much as we care for residents.
When one relative was unwell and unable to visit his loved one at Jubilee House, we made sure he was okay – calling on him with some nourishing food from our chef-led kitchen team. "The staff are wonderful here,” says a relative. "They're honestly like friends to us.”
